Hey guys, I went through all our posts and took similarities from each concept. This will help us establish our final concept.

Ideas/concepts that cross over from individual concepts

Tracking an individual passing the screen:

    Nathan

    Design one – Ball Pit

“On one layer there is a live interactive part, the ball pit, which involves the whole screen being filled with balls, and as people walk past it the balls will react to the persons body.”

    Steve

    Focus-Acquire attention phase

“As a user passes, seeing a change in the environment’s colour will notify them of the screen’s presence. Maintaining attention through visually appealing content will then act as a filler until the interaction stage is triggered.”

    Chris

    1. Are Friends Electric?

“the passers-by are tracked via webcam or Kinect, and superimposed onto the virtual canvas as a shadow. Inside / around this shadow, colourful sparks of energy ripple according to the speed of the users movement (faster movement introduces more energy into the spark algorithms).”

    Socially group users though interaction

    Chris

    1. Are Friends Electric?

As one user comes into the vicinity of the another, sparks are initiated between the users, and arcing occurs where the colour information of both users are mixed, a sharing of energy.

    Nathan

    Design one – Ball Pit

“Behind this is the 2nd layer an interactive graffiti/message wall, this would be used either by a website or in application form on a smart phone. People would be able to post short messages, symbols and small artwork made by them through a simple paint program inside the application.”

    Steve

Concept 2- “The road less travelled”

“As groups of people walk past the installation, they will be presented a choice for which path to take. Depending where they walk, their vote for that particular product path will be recognized and cast with an interaction.”

    Augmentation

    Nathan

    Concept 2- Burnt

“The longer an object stays there the longer they will be burnt into the screen. So a person sitting down may be there for 30 minutes, when they leave their figure will remain and slowly fade out over time. But a person walking quickly past will be seen for only one or two shots.”

    Chris

    1. Are Friends Electric?

“The possibilities of expanding this installation to both sites is strong, with a duplex video feed that is superimposed at both locations – providing not just a mirror, but a hazy window into another / augmented world.”

    Steve

    Focus

“When the user passers the silhouette will begin to drink a can of coke when in reality they are simply walking past.”

    Changing content depending on time/context

    Nathan

    Design one – Ball Pit

“but perhaps for say when it’s around Valentines Day the ball pit can be replaced with Roses, to encourage more love messages on the wall. When it’s Christmas, snow can cover the screen, when its autumn leaves can fill the screen. I see the screen as changeable. Keeping it dynamic so it will be more engaging and to stay in touch with the community, relating to the people and what is happening at the time.”

    Steve

    Focus

The nature of interactive advertising requires content to be changed regularly. *Refer to variations section of post
